Dr. Prince has served as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church Waynesville since February 2003 coming from First Baptist Church of Vernon, Texas. He has a B.A. from Baylor University in Waco, Texas and a Masters of Divinity and Ph.D. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He has taught for Southwestern and New Orleans Baptist Seminaries and Wayland Baptist University, and has had articles and sermons published in various journals. His hobbies include exercising, watching old movies and golf.
Rev. Mitch Huskison holds a Bachelors Degree in Church Music from Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi and a Masters of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He began his service at First Baptist Waynesville in March 2006. Prior to joining the staff at FBC, he served churches in Georgia, Kentucky, and Mississippi. He lives in the Waynesville area and is rearing twin teenage boys.
Rev. Dan Smith holds a Bachelors of Art degree in Psychology from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA and a Master of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. Dan has served at First Baptist Church since February 2004 and encourages all youth, parents and workers to be a part of a variety of youth ministries. Prior to joining the staff at First Baptist Church, he served churches in Dayton, OH; Dalton, GA; and Miami, FL. He is married to Leslie and they have two daughters, Amy and Jessica.
Meet our Children's Ministry Coordinators, Myra Clemmons and Emily Fleenor. Both Myra and Emily have taught in the Haywood County School System (Myra is now retired). Myra is married to Micky and they have three children, Cayli Pankratz who is married to Stephen; Josh who is married to Brooke; and Zach. Joyce Brooks has served as one of our ministry assistants since 2008. She brings to her work a wealth of knowledge and experience in working with people and resources. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management and has worked for several local and international nonprofits. Joyce is native to the Waynesville area and has one son, Joshua Brooks Corn who is Naturopathic Doctor in Portland, OR. She is a member of Grace Church in the Mountains where she serves as a lay Eucharist minister and a licensed Eucharist visitor.
